Effect of recession

The famous automaker General Motors has sent emails to its employees a month ago about cutting around 1,600 jobs in the near future as it announced in its previous plans. It has planned to cut around 3,400 of its 29,500 U.S based employees which will take immediate effect from the month of May. This is the effect of recession which has affected the auto industry in a large scale.
